Biography

Robert Porter is the Communications Coordinator of The eQuality Project, a seven-year research partnership funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and hosted at the Centre for Law, Technology and Society. Co-led by Jane Bailey and Dr. Valerie Steeves, the project explores issues of (in)equality in networked spaces, with a particular focus on youth privacy and technology-facilitated violence.

Prior to accepting the role of Communications Coordinator, Robert Porter worked as the Project Manager. He has also worked for a number of non-profit community organizations as well as several independent start-ups on a variety of projects including: project coordination and management, grant and proposal writing, film editing, and photography. He completed a Bachelor of Arts (History and Greek & Roman Studies) at Carleton University in 2011, and a Master of Arts (Public History) at the University of York (UK) in 2015.
