The 2012 Deirdre G. Martin Memorial Lecture will be presented by Dr. Gus Hosein, Executive Director, Privacy International, and Visiting Senior Fellow, London School of Economics and Political Science, on Thursday, February 23. The title of his talk is, “Is Privacy at risk of becoming a real Human Right? Perspectives from Europe and Developing Countries.”

Professor Jeremy de Beer will present a talk entitled "Innovation? What innovation? Re-thinking progress and how we measure it." In this talk, Jeremy de Beer will explain why effective decision-making in a dynamic innovation context requires us to think differently about science and technology and how we measure success. The talk will take place on Tuesday, January 31 at 7:30am on Parliament Hill, at the Parliamentary Restaurant, 6th Floor, Centre Block.

On October 27th 2011, Professor Ian Kerr, Canada Research Chair in Ethics, Law and Technology, was featured in a panel discussion at Stanford Law School titled, "Artificial Intelligence: A Legal Perspective."
The Student Research Assistantship Program was developed to provide University of Ottawa law students with financial assistance, to cultivate mentoring relationships, and to offer an early opportunity to work with faculty from the Centre for Law, Technology and Society on current research initiatives.
