Presentation

Join us for a conversation with Prof. Milan Markovic on the deployment of AI in the legal profession and how it affects access to justice.

There is widespread speculation that artificial intelligence will transform the practice of law and expand access to justice. In "AI Hype and the Justice Gap," Prof. Markovic will examine these ideas, with a special focus on new technologies such as GPT-4.  Professor Markovic will contend that, although AI can facilitate access to basic legal information and advice, the substitution of lawyers with generative AI is ethically fraught and must be analyzed within the context of an unequal and adversarial justice system.
